014 / PRIX DE ROME / AMSTERDAM

In de inzending voor de Prix de Rome locatie Mr. Visserplein wordt de verkeerstunnel – opgeleverd in 1970, ontmanteld eind jaren 90 – in ere hersteld om de doorstroming van het verkeer te bevorderen. De onder-
doorgangen voor voetgangers verbinden vijf assen en zijn omgebouwd naar een installatie voor water en licht. Het plein zal in de nacht te lokaliseren zijn vanuit de wijde omgeving.

In the design for the Prix the Rome location Mr. Visserplein the excisting passageway – completed in 1970, dismanteld in the late 90s – is re-established in order to stimulate the traffic flow. The passageways for pedestrians link the five axes and are turned into an installation for water and light. During the night the square can be localised from far around.
