081 / AMSTERDAM LIGHT FESTIVAL

This light installation for the 'Amsterdam Light Festival' is a curved spiral wall made up of segments of different sized circles. Based on a plan by Max Bill, the different radii of each circle results in a route through the spiral shape that varies in width as you go along. Marking both an end and a beginning, the spiral led to a central circular area. With various openings to provide shortcuts, the spiral wall is semi-translucent and luminous with interactive LED strips – and plays with the natural lighting both during the day and at night.
